The Textile Manufacturer Putting Social and Environmental Responsibility First

One of the best things about what we do is meeting inspirational people who put people and the planet first. Our linen mill in India is a shining example of an organisation which is about more than just great textiles - ethics and sustainability are the very fabric of what they do and we’re so pleased to work alongside them to make a difference in the textiles industry.

We choose suppliers who align with our own values and our mill in India is no different, as a future conscious female-focused organisation, they’re taking social responsibility seriously. From the renewable energy they use to power the mill to how they support their team with initiatives, this holistic business shows the positive impact companies can have when they think about the bigger picture.

50 acres of their land is dedicated to tree planting, with 5,000 trees planted and a further 2,000 planned by 2025. And their sustainability efforts don’t stop there - 93% of the water they use is recycled and reused, a huge feat when the textiles industry can be so thirsty. On top of all this, 40% of the total energy they use is produced by windmills, with the target of upping this to 60% by 2025. Business Development Executive, Swetha, says:

“I’m proud of our sustainability practices, such as our adoption of renewable energy through solar panels, windmills and water conservation efforts. These initiatives demonstrate the company’s dedication to reducing their carbon footprint and promoting eco-friendly manufacturing.”

But where this organisation really excels is in their initiatives for women. They’re passionate about gender equality and improving opportunities for women, recently donating towards a sewing skill training centre. The centre has helped empower women by opening up new skills and opportunities. So far this amazing initiative has trained 350 women. The mill has also offered employment opportunities in their manufacturing facility. Swetha says:

“We support female empowerment through initiatives like skill training programs for women, creating equal job opportunities and providing a safe and supportive work environment. Our female leaders inspire confidence and motivate us to excel.”

This lot are wonderful role models for how companies can make a lasting sustainable impact by putting social and environmental responsibility first. Through their impressive initiatives they’re helping to create a better future for everyone.

With the help of suppliers like this, we’re taking significant steps towards reaching our own ESG goals too. Together, we’re part of a bigger movement to create luxury textiles that don’t cost the earth.
