Hearty breakfasts, long lunches and lazy suppers; it's about delicious food made with fresh, local ingredients, simply and creatively cooked according to the season.

Spend your days with a restorative massage or Yon-Ka spa treatment, a picnic down on the beach or take a table on the terrace for lunch. If you're lucky and book early you might bag the prized Captains Table.

22 miles of the stunning English Riveria forming part of the 630 mile long South West Coast Path, which takes in some of the finest coastal scenery in Europe.

During the day, Babbacombe's sun-trapped beaches are the main attraction. The water sparkles and you can lose yourself in the surroundings of the unique GeoParkl Coast. The historic Babbacombe Cliff funicular railway is available to take you up and down from the beach to the village.

Babbacombe, Oddicombe and Petitor Downs are a series of interconnected, attractive little bays full of their own charms and known for their top water quality and cleanliness. The red cliffs of Dorset and jutting point of Portland Bill are both visible on clear days.

Throughout the seasons, this part of the coast assumes a rugged splendour far removed from the traditional bucket and spade image. Going back a century, the Petitor cliffs were mined for marble and this can still be seen in the pavements around Torquay. Today, the offshore reefs of Oddicombe reward divers with a wealth of marine life. A great place to learn the sport or a challenge for the more experienced diver with a number of intact wrecks to explore. Roe deer and soaring buzzards are frequent sights on the surrounding downs.
